Donald Orbin joined Magna IV Engineering in 2017 as Director of Operations – Emerging Markets; and was accordingly tasked with leading the growth of the USA and Canadian Regional offices. Donald’s background in Electrical Engineering and diverse international experience spanning USA, Canada, Middle East and Africa have proven invaluable to Magna IV Engineering resulting in all offices becoming profitable within 18 months of him joining the organization. Donald’s 27 years of pertinent experience in the Power market sector includes Senior Leadership roles such as Director of Engineering, Project Director and Senior Project Manager where he built and led multi-disciplinary teams on pertinent multi-billion-dollar Infrastructure EPC programs where initiatives have been completed on schedule and within approved budgets. Donald has been directly responsible for P&L of over $450M. He is often heard quoting “every multi-million-dollar contract is comprised of many small contracts down to a few thousand dollars”, thus allowing him to work on initiatives of any value.
As an integral member of the Magna IV Senior Leadership Team – the organization has been able to leverage off his experience to facilitate enhance and implement best practices, operational efficiencies, and risk management strategies. Donald is a hands-on leader who assists his team to support Clients in overcoming complex challenges by proposing practical and cost-effective options and solutions. Donald has achieved commendable growth in the USA while also establishing the framework for assessing opportunities for strategic growth nodes and office locations – including Grande Prairie (AB), Terrace (BC), New York and California.
